Dr. Gregory Little and Dr. Kenneth Robinson are the founding fathers of MRT—Moral Reconation Therapy®. Dr. Robinson is the founder of Correctional Counseling, Inc.
Dr. Robinson helps develop program interventions, including MRT—Moral Reconation Therapy®, from his deep knowledge gained working in a drug and mental health therapeutic community, as well as in community-based substance abuse and mental health treatment agencies.
Dr. Robinson was instrumental in creating the first mental health crisis unit in Memphis, Tennessee, and served as Director of Clinical Services and Director of the Crisis Stabilization Unit for Midtown Mental Health Center for several years. He is one of the most respected teachers, lecturers, and authors on cognitive-behavioral treatment and correctional counseling. He is a sought-after speaker at both national and international symposiums and conferences.
In addition to co-developing MRT, Dr. Robinson has published and presented numerous professional articles in the areas of psychopharmacology and mental health services. His extensive work in mental health and corrections provides a unique combination of insight.
Dr. Robinson has co-authored numerous cognitive-behavioral treatment programs to address a variety of issues, including mental health, substance abuse, trauma recovery, relapse prevention, DUI offenses, criminal thinking, and anger management. The programs have been implemented by behavioral health providers, community-based organizations, criminal justice settings, private care agencies, and many others.

Katherine Burnette has more than 25 years of experience in corrections. As director of clinical services, she trains corrections professionals on implementing programs for offender populations. She provides clinical supervision for all Correctional Counseling operations, monitoring compliance with state regulations. Ms. Burnette also consults with and provides quality assurance services to correctional systems implementing domestic violence and MRT-Moral Reconation Therapy® programs.
Prior to joining Correctional Counseling in 1990, Ms. Burnette was a substance abuse counselor and counselor supervisor for the Shelby County Division of Corrections in Memphis, TN. Here, she implemented several therapeutic communities and programs and acted as a counselor and community liaison for inmates. She also conducted research on the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral programs for offender populations.
Ms. Burnette received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from the University of Memphis and is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. She has co-authored numerous books and research publications on the topics of counseling for substance abusers and offenders.

Wendy Standifer has over 30 years of experience working in behavioral health, substance abuse, criminal justice, and child welfare systems. As the Chief Operating Officer, she develops and executes a comprehensive business strategy with targeted goals and objectives. She identifies new and cultivates existing partners, working with organizations to assure positive customer service, effective referral processes and presenting models of practice and services provided by CCI. She is a speaker at national conferences and a national trainer for MRT, MRT-DV and MRT Trauma.
Prior to joining Correctional Counseling full time in 2024, Ms. Standifer provided therapeutic counseling, case management, clinical supervision, and executive leadership to clinical programs working with adults and children. Ms. Standifer is a developer of a data and creating an innovative driven culture where diversity, inclusion and trusted relationships with partners and funders are business priorities, resulting in operational efficiencies and the identification of new funding mechanisms and social enterprise opportunities. She has engaged in innovative strategic planning, managing behavioral health, co-occurring, military/veterans, and outpatient services that have resulted in improved clinical outcomes for adults and children across various clinical settings.
Wendy holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Oakland University and has certifications through the National Certified Counselors (NCC) and Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC).
