Katherine Burnette, MS

Vice President, Director of Clinical Services

Katherine Burnette has more than 25 years of experience in corrections. As director of clinical services, she trains corrections professionals on implementing programs for offender populations. She provides clinical supervision for all Correctional Counseling operations, monitoring compliance with state regulations. Ms. Burnette also consults with and provides quality assurance services to correctional systems implementing domestic violence and MRT-Moral Reconation Therapy® programs.

Prior to joining Correctional Counseling in 1990, Ms. Burnette was a substance abuse counselor and counselor supervisor for the Shelby County Division of Corrections in Memphis, TN. Here, she implemented several therapeutic communities and programs and acted as a counselor and community liaison for inmates. She also conducted research on the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral programs for offender populations.

Ms. Burnette received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from the University of Memphis and is a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. She has co-authored numerous books and research publications on the topics of counseling for substance abusers and offenders.
