At CCI, we believe real change happens when individuals are given the structure, education, and support needed to build a new path forward. That commitment is reflected at Marshall County Correctional Facility, where participants in the Mississippi Rehabilitative Initiative are completing a comprehensive program focused on rehabilitation and re-entry.

Through a nine-month, evidence-based approach, participants engage in education, behavioral programming, and vocational training, including MRT—Moral Reconation Therapy®. MRT plays a key role in helping individuals examine decision-making patterns, strengthen moral reasoning, and develop the accountability needed for long-term change.
Graduates of the program represent more than completion. They reflect a shift in mindset, a commitment to personal growth, and a renewed sense of direction. With tools that support healthier choices and stronger life skills, participants are preparing to return to their communities with purpose and possibility.
What could re-entry look like if more programs prioritized structured, evidence-based approaches like MRT—Moral Reconation Therapy®?
At CCI, we believe meaningful change happens when individuals are given the structure, support, and tools to build a different future. That commitment is reflected at Delta Correctional Facility, where 16 participants have graduated from a six-month substance use disorder program focused on accountability, recovery, and personal growth.

The program brings together multiple evidence-based approaches, including MRT—Moral Reconation Therapy®, anger management, and 12-step work. Within this structure, participants learn to examine their thinking, take responsibility for their actions, and develop the skills needed to maintain long-term sobriety.
Graduation marked more than completion. Through reflection, performance, and shared experiences, participants demonstrated the growth they have achieved and the mindset they are continuing to build. Their commitment to sobriety, daily practice, and accountability reflects the foundation needed for lasting change.
What could long-term recovery look like if more programs combined structure, evidence-based approaches, and personal accountability in this way?
At CCI, we believe transformation happens when individuals are given structure, purpose, and the opportunity to contribute something meaningful.

That belief is on display at the Elkhart County Jail, where participants in Moral Reconation Therapy- MRT® are crocheting thousands of winter hats for local nonprofits and families in need.
Through this volunteer initiative, men in the program learn more than a craft. They mentor one another, complete structured steps within the MRT framework, and build a positive sense of self through accountability and service. Last year alone, more than 2,200 hats were donated across the community.
Each hat carries more than warmth. It represents growth, responsibility, and the power of evidence-based programming to reduce recidivism while restoring dignity.
