
ONLINE Foundations of Substance Use Disorders October 2-3 2025 (10 AM CDT)

This two-day interactive Foundations of Substance Use Disorders training will be based on programs published by Eagle Wing Books, Inc. “What Do I Do Now”, “Where Do I Go Now?”, “Taking the High Road” and “Staying Quit: A CBT Approach to Relapse Prevention”. Training participants will receive updated information on Substance Abuse Disorders including definitions, root causes, prevalence, and risk factors. The training will outline the effects of drugs and alcohol on the brain, as well as long-term effects. We will discuss the most recent research in Substance Abuse Treatment, including Cognitive Behavioral Treatment and Medication Assisted Treatment. Participants will be guided through CCI’s 4 SUD models of practice. We will review each module including target population, length of model, setting up open-ended groups, and how to facilitate sessions of the curriculum using real-life case vignettes. Participants will have the opportunity to engage and process exercises through a cognitive-behavioral lens.
Target Audience/ Group: Anyone who is working with individuals with Substance Abuse and Alcohol Use Disorders. Individuals can participate in alcohol or drug pre-treatment, treatment, or post-treatment programs in settings such as drug & specialty courts, substance abuse treatment, corrections, probation/parole, and mental health agencies.

We must receive your registration and payment no later than Thursday, September 25th in order to get materials out to all attendees in time for the training. About 1 week before training begins, you will receive an email with your registration information and instructions to submit your Online Training Agreement. To be certified in this program, you must attend for the entire time.
No refunds allowed for training registrations within 60 days of training date. Your CCI Account Manager will assist with rescheduling any training registration. Monies paid for training may be credited toward materials purchases. Please note that a $50 processing fee will be assessed on account for cancellation 10 days or less before training. Note that some training dates have limited availability of open slots. CCI reserves the right to cancel training dates if insufficient participants have enrolled.
PLEASE NOTE: This is an ONLINE training, NOT an in-person training. Attendees are required to have a microphone and webcam to participate in the training. Shipping charges apply for training materials.
